Welcome, do you need a website for affiliate marketing?
A question that I am often asked and the straightforward answer is, that you don’t need a website to do affiliate marketing.
There are various ways that you can execute affiliate marketing without a website such as…
-
- Social Media
- Creating an EBook
- Through Forums
Decide what you want to promote and find an appropriate affiliate program, there are hundreds of them and sign up.
Grab your private affiliate link and post it anywhere and that might have worked to some extent 10-15 years ago.
But today people are looking for more, such as information to fulfil their requirements, their needs.
They are looking for so much more and guess what video is way up there because people are getting lazy and can’t be bothered reading anymore.
But more on that a little later…
The Basic Requirement For Executing Affiliate Marketing
Well, the concept of affiliate marketing is a very straightforward business model that anybody can learn and you can do it on a low budget.
Find a product or service that you would like to promote.
Sign up for an affiliate program which is free and receive your unique affiliate link.
Promote the link and whenever someone clicks on your link and makes a purchase you are paid a commission.
That is the shortened version and the basic elements required to execute affiliate marketing.
But things have moved on somewhat when a few years back you would have got away with doing affiliate marketing that way.
Nowadays it is a whole different ball game.
The bare minimum today would be using a landing page which is normally a one-page website.
All you are doing is creating an initial step and making your affiliate link look a little more professional and more appetizing to the reader.
But to execute it in the correct manner can take time!
Affiliate Marketing Can Be a Dream Job
The internet makes everything so much easier with over 5 billion that have access to it in one way or the other.
Mobiles nowadays are compatible with laptops and have an enormous processing power that has overtaken the desktop.
Most people have a mobile today.
So it doesn’t matter who or where you are, we all have access to the internet in the blink of an eye.
More and more people are turning to the internet for ways to make money even if it is just to help pay the bills.
With many looking at affiliate marketing; why not, because the industry is booming and will continue for the foreseeable future.
Out of all the different ways to make money online, affiliate marketing has to be one of the best ways and can be a dream job.
Nobody enjoys getting up early in the morning and travelling to work to slog it out for 40 hours a week.
Helping to make someone else’s dream come true when all along you should be thinking about yourself and your family.
The dream should be…
To work from home or anywhere for that matter because all it takes is an internet connection.
When you want and forever how long you want.
Doing Affiliate Marketing Without A Website – How It Works!
In theory, you can execute affiliate marketing without a website but you have limited scope.
Maybe a few years ago you might have got away with it but today people are looking for information and a private link isn’t going to give you that.
But anyway!
When you sign up for an affiliate program you are given a unique affiliate link that you use when promoting a product or service.
When a customer clicks on your link, the merchant or retailer’s order management system will take over and track the entire process.
So that once the customer makes a purchase then you can be paid a commission.
That link can literally be used anywhere on the internet, social media, forums, etc.
Even in comments on Youtube videos and other blogs.
So even today I can categorically answer the question, “do you need a website for affiliate marketing” as no you don’t.
But if you asked me, “would you advise doing affiliate marketing without a website?” then I would have to say no.
Why I Believe You do Need a Website to do Affiliate Marketing
If you are looking at becoming an affiliate marketer then you have to be looking at it as a long-term investment.
Having a website shows that you are committed and it gives you your own space in the cyber world.
It also allows you to grow your brand much better!
Yes, we are talking about a full-blown website that is like a database where you store everything because it sits there on the internet.
Then everybody has access to everything that you have written about 24/7.
All your articles that you have written, targeting keywords that people are keying into the search engines and with your affiliate links attached.
We mentioned earlier that the bear essentials for promoting your affiliate link could be a one-page website or a landing page as it is known.
The problem you have here is that a landing page usually implies that you are using it to promote your offer through paid advertising.
This means that you have to pay someone for promoting your offer and once the budget runs out you have to add more money for it to continue.
You have also got to tweak the landing page or monetize it to try and get the most out of it.
This can all add up to some serious spending!
Ok, you could post your link to the landing page in various places but you aren’t getting your message out to a wider audience.
Like you would with a full-blown website.
Where Can I Learn How to Build a Website?
A few years back and not too long ago either, you would have had to create your website yourself or pay someone to do it.
Which was another expense if you didn’t have the technical knowledge to do it yourself.
Such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript…
I know as I can remember trying to build my own website and because there was no help I gave up.
Nowadays none of that applies and even though you could still pay someone there really is no need because it is so simple and straightforward.
In fact, you can create a website from scratch that looks as professional as any professional developer, in just a few minutes, seriously.
Furthermore, you will always get more enjoyment out of doing it yourself!
Nowadays there are many places you could go to build your website. Here are just a few popular choices…
-
- Wix
- Ionos
- Square Online
- Wealthy Affiliate
- Squarespace
- Site123
- Plus many more…
The ones that I have highlighted above are website builders and hosting sites.
The 4th one down is Wealthy Affiliate which I use for training, hosting and website development.
You could call it a one-stop shop and one of the best training platforms that you can find online today.
Where Can I Learn All About Affiliate Marketing?
You could do what I did and try and work it all out yourself through places like Youtube but there is far too much misinformation out there.
Out-of-date techniques and marketers who are more interested in trying to sell you a quick solution and guess what they never work.
I tried a few of these done-4-you systems and all that they do is end up emptying your pockets and a lot of frustration.
Education is key to your success and at Wealthy Affiliate, there are bags of it with hundreds of hours of training videos with live training every week.
There are 5 courses and 50 lessons in the “Online Entrepreneur Course” which was designed with the complete beginner in mind.
There is the “Affiliate Bootcamp” which is a more advanced course which comes with 7 courses and 70 lessons.
There is the Training HQ where you can find a lot of information about…

The Most Important Aspect Of Any Training Is Help And Support
I have said this all along and for me the most important aspect of any training course is the level of support and for the most part it just isn’t there.
You might have a Facebook group where you can post your questions or email “support” and wait for your answer.
A question that is probably stopping you from advancing, and you wait an hour or two and then it goes on to three and four.
In many cases, this will run into days or you probably don’t get an answer in the first place.
This happens all the time and probably the one reason that people move onto something else which you find happens to be no better.
One thing that Wealthy Affiliate is not short of that is “Help and Support”
All the support is handled through the training platform so don’t worry there is no Facebook group.
When you open the Help Centre tab you have access to…
Site support:
For any issues, you might have with anything related to your website just get in touch with these guys and they will reply within minutes.
As your site is hosted through Wealthy Affiliate and Amazon you have support 24/7 with daily backups and mirrowing.
So if there is a major issue for some reason then they can switch over and you can continue as if nothing happened.
Ask a Question:
We all have access to our own blogging platform and part of that allows you to ask a question and allocate it to a class.
Expect your answer to come back in minutes form the community.
Live Instant Chat:
Instant chat is just that, ask away your question and you will get an answer straight away as if your answers to questions couldn’t get any quicker.
Private Message:
You can private message anybody you like just like you can through social media platforms like Facebook and network as well.
By adding someone as a friend to your own private network.
Contact the founders:
Feel free to message any one of the 2 founders who are constantly active within the platform.
They are more than happy to help in any way they can but it may take a little time for a response due to the number of queries they will have to sort out.
Create a Blog Post:
Within the training platform, we all have our own blogging platform and this is a great way to get a discussion about anything moving forward.
Maybe you are looking for some ideas, what better way than to get the community discussing topics.
