Summary: The most important question that you should be asking before you join any MLM is are the products as good as they say they are?
You have to be convinced other words what is the point?
The next big question is, does my upline or sponsor have any experience as a network marketer and are they willing to pass on that knowledge?
You see what often happens, is there’s too much emphasis on recruiting and building a team.
That training the team is often neglected and in some cases, it doesn’t even exist.
Unless you are experienced as a network marketer then beyond your social circle you will struggle.
That’s why you have to do thorough research before even considering this type of business model.
Recruiting is key to your success and is not for everyone, because cold-calling is difficult.
That comes with a lot of rejection that you have to put up with.
If that is not you and you are looking for a better solution where all the stresses of an MLM can be avoided, you might find the link below of interest.

What is Total Life Changes About?
Total Life Changes is a direct selling company in the Health and Wellness industry selling dietary and supplementary vitamins.
Founded in 1999 and based in Michigan, they operate in more than 150 countries reaching over 3 million people.
They offer a way for people to make money with currently over 200,000 distributors.
Since 1999 the company has grown to where it is today, a 250 million a year business.
Very recently as of 2020 they merged with a similar company, Level Up 247 which increased the number of products considerably.
Who is The Founder of Total Life Changes?
Jack Fallon is the CEO and founder of Total Life Changes which was started in his basement in 1999.
Prior to him starting TLC he worked on the assembly line of the Ford motor car company for over a decade.
He spent several years holding down his full-time job whilst trying to get TLC off the ground.
Eventually developed their first product “NutraBurst” which is where it all started and is still one of their best sellers today.
Is Total Life Changes a Pyramid Scheme?
Technically speaking, Total Life Changes is not a pyramid scheme because you can make money just by selling the products and not recruiting.
But, the amount that you earn will be limited and that is why you have to be proficient at recruiting.
Whilst the payment structure is in the style of a pyramid, this type of business model can be what is called a pyramid scheme in disguise.
However, that is not what we are seeing here.
Just for clarity on what a Pyramid Scheme is…
A company that operates in a manner where the affiliates or representatives are paid for recruitment only would be declared illegal.
Sometimes these companies operate where there is some form of training, a product or services in place however they don’t have any real value.
It is just a way to hide the fact that they are operating illegally and these companies do get away with it because there are so many doing the same thing.
In most countries this type of behaviour is illegal and some go to prison for many years.
The Federal Trade Commission has compiled a report on the way MLMs operate which you can read about here.
Why aren’t these MLMs getting closed down?
There are so many MLMs that operate as a pyramid scheme and because there are so many it takes time for the FTC to get their act together.
After all, they only have a limited resource of people to investigate and by the time they get around to doing anything about it.
The company under investigation usually closes down and reopens as some other company probably doing the same thing but using a different name.

Or “Life Changes” as they are known.
It is common knowledge that the main income earned is in the top 1% of all the members at TLC.
Just take a look at the income disclaimer below which is straight from the Total Life Changes website.
For a more detailed look at the income disclaimer, click on the link here.
The Federal Trade Commission compiled a report which you can read here but it doesn’t read well at all.
But if you ask any of the distributors at Total Life they are all going to tell you that they are doing well
Why wouldn’t they, after all, they are trying to recruit you.
Is Total Life Changes a SCAM?
Is Total Life Changes a scam? Absolutely not!
They promote and sell legit products that many people are totally happy with.
They do offer a way to make money which doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to buy into the affiliate program.
You can become a preferred customer which won’t cost you to join however you are still going to have to purchase the products to show as samples.
Many people who join this type of business often claim that they are scams, simply because they don’t understand the work that is required to succeed.
They often join with the right intentions and maybe get their family and friends involved and that is ok with a few sales here and there.
But to really earn enough to replace a full-time job requires a lot of hard work which most people are just not prepared for.
That’s why we see most people leaving after a few weeks or months with a bad taste in their mouths.
MLM in general are notoriously difficult to master but it is quite possible to make some money.
It’s just that there are better ways to make money online with much fewer risks and a lot less costly.
Here are some similar businesses you might consider…
Total Life Changes PROS and CONS
We are at the stage of the review where we highlight what we think are the important points to make it easier for you to make a decision.
- You Don’t Have To Handle Stocks:
That means you don’t have to purchase the products yourself first, all this is done for you automatically through your own website once an order has been made.
- This Business Is Well Established:
Often what you find with an MLM business is that they don’t tend to stay operational for very long.
TLC was launched over 2 decades ago and year on year has increased its revenue.
- Positive Reviews:
Products are the main key to any successful business and one thing TLC is not short of is positive reviews.
- Accredited At The Better Business Bureau:
They have an A+ rating at BBB however you will find a number of complaints there.
If you are looking for complaints then this is the place to find them if you want your issues sorted out. A sort of last resort!
- Products Are Expensive:
Yes, the products are expensive and they normally are in any MLM business but maybe that is because the products do exactly what it says on the label.
Ok, you can find similar products for a fraction of the cost but will those be as good as the TLC products besides aren’t you joining TLC because of the products?
- Low Income Potential:
It is after all an MLM and many join because they love the products with no intention of partaking in the business opportunity and that’s great.
You might make some money but if you looked at the TLC income disclaimer earlier you will see the depressing stats.
People tend to not believe when we tell them the stats, but hey we understand because they thought they had found a great opportunity.
But that is the reality of it all.
- News Feature About People Losing Their Jobs:
There is a news report that some women lost their jobs due to failing a drugs test through drinking the raspberry flavoured Iaso tea.
According to the tea, the label states THC=0 which is the part of the Marijuana plant that gives you the high.
But a lab test said otherwise, but it looks like the manufacturer who is to blame no longer supplies the product.
- Possibly Trace Elements Of Lead And Mercury Used:
We have heard a mention of trace elements of Lead and Mercury is used in some of the products and that is coming from an actual employee of TLC.
Now if this is true then there are some serious issues here.
Total Life Changes Review – Final Thoughts!
To round off this TLC review, it’s clear that the business is still going strong even after over two decades.
The products although expensive seem to be loved by most people and they do have an extensive product range.
However, at the end of the day, it is an MLM and to be successful would require a lot of hard work, with recruiting being the key here.
Because you are only going to excel in this business with a large team under you.
That and the fact that over 98% do not earn enough and with between 50 and 65 per cent leaving within the first 12 months with many in debt.
Doesn’t sound like a good investment to me.
All the same, if you are still looking for a business opportunity where the costs are zero in comparison, no risks and as much flexibility as you like.
Then we’d love to share with you what we do for a living in the section below.
How we make Passive Income Online?
Multi-level marketing businesses are legit businesses and you can make some money but you will be restricted as to what you can earn.
We are not a fan, simply because we have tried them in the past and they just weren’t for us.
We believe affiliate marketing is a much better business model and one where you can create multiple passive income streams.
That’s where your business runs 24/7 with very little intervention.
- No stocks to purchase
- No targets to meet
- No sponsor to pester you
- Promote anything you want
- No customer orders to handle
- No marketing costs
All you have to do is connect the customer with the merchant and once the customer makes a purchase you get paid.
The training platform comes from Wealthy Affiliate and has been going since 2005 and produced thousands of 5 and 6 figures month earners.
Take a look, it won’t cost you a dime and we think you will be suitably impressed because there is nothing like this on the internet today.
